From 13 to 17 April 2026, the third phase of the programme was successfully held at the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO) in Turin, Italy, bringing together 114 participants from the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and Near East, North Africa and Europe (NEN) regions.

Delivered in four languages, the programme fostered an inclusive and dynamic learning environment, enabling participants from diverse backgrounds to engage fully in a rich week of knowledge exchange and capacity development.

The agenda featured lectures, technical presentations, and interactive discussions led by IFAD Headquarters staff from the SECAP and Procurement teams, renowned international experts, tutors and members of the DevInvest team. Participants explored key topics related to sustainable investment, environmental and social standards, and procurement practices, benefiting from both global expertise and practical field experience.

A distinctive feature of the programme was the afternoon language-based group work sessions, where participants collaborated in their respective language groups to deepen their understanding of the concepts presented, exchange regional perspectives, and apply learning to real-world scenarios.

Phase 3 represented a key milestone in the programme and served as the minimum qualification requirement for consideration for Phase 4 – the Training of Trainers (ToT) programme. Following a highly competitive selection process, 40 participants were chosen to advance to the next phase, reflecting the high level of engagement, commitment, and performance demonstrated throughout the week.

The energy, collaboration, and enthusiasm displayed by participants underscored the success of this phase. It reinforced the programme’s objective of building a strong network of professionals capable of promoting sustainable and impactful investment practices across IFAD-supported operations.
