The second session of the SUSTAIN Community of Practice Webinar Series was successfully held on 17 July 2026, bringing together project participants and practitioners for another valuable exchange of knowledge and experience. Building on the momentum generated by the first webinar, the session continued to strengthen the Community of Practice as a space for collaborative learning and discussion on key topics related to sustainable and inclusive project implementation.
The webinar, titled “Operationalization of Project-Level Grievance Redress Mechanisms,” was delivered by Mr. Ilyasse Elbaroudy, Senior Technical Specialist (Environmental and Social Safeguards) at IFAD. Drawing on extensive experience from IFAD-supported projects, Mr. Elbaroudy shared practical insights on how grievance redress mechanisms can be effectively established and managed at project level, highlighting both common challenges and successful approaches from real-world implementation.
The session reaffirmed the importance of grievance redress mechanisms as essential tools for promoting accountability, inclusiveness, and responsiveness in development interventions. Through an engaging discussion, participants explored practical strategies for strengthening these mechanisms and enhancing stakeholder engagement. The active participation of the SUSTAIN community once again demonstrated the value of peer learning and collaboration in advancing project objectives and fostering sustainable impact.
